Recently saw this video, a promotional clip for the BBC’s broadcasting of the Olympics:
Its made by Jamie Hewlett the kick arse animator behind Gorillaz. Jamie based this off the cult series “Monkey” from the 70’s. My brother introduced me to this show when I about 10, couldn’t stop watching it.
I’d love to bring this story (Journey To The West) to the big screen one day the story is so energetic and without a doubt is one of China’s most famous mythological stories.

Devo is one the best bands of the late 70’s and 80’s without a doubt… and I was lucky enough to score a ticket to their last tour!
They came to Adelaide of all places which makes me a very lucky fella.
For a bunch of old geezers they played bloody well, I had a great time. It felt as if I was in the 80’s, everything was very colourful and alive. At no point did the band seem like they were trying to pull off what they could 25 odd years ago, they fucking did it!
I had an amazing time and feel very honoured to have experienced their presence.
It’s great to have a blast from the past!
(Also: for the few concerts I’ve gone to, every support band so far have been cross dressing, teenage angst singing tossers… why this trend has been so I have no idea but please stop this shit, my ears were bleeding before DEVO came to the stage. I was ticked off with the RHCP support band last year also, if you witnessed that you’ll know exactly what shit the crowd went through).

From the completely spherical and orange headed man himself… Karl Pilkington

One of my many goals in life is to meet Mr K.P Pilkers in the flesh, he processes the world like no other. The violent bursts of laughter from monkey related conversations would honestly kill me.
If you have no idea who Karl is I suggest you look him up: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karl_Pilkington
Without a doubt his poems are insane -

I saw The Dark Knight last night, was good but Batman Begins was superior by far. Ledger’s performance was great but I think everyone’s playing the hype game here.
I’m not going to critique it or whatever, I’m just going to leave my ramble about it with this:
- Hype seemed to kill it for me.
- Good film but not that fantastic.
- Chemistry in the love triangle was weird, very typical and very boring.
- Long as all hell, too many characters with forfilling stories to be told.
And from observing online reviews (such as Rotten Tomatoes) it seems the very few film buffs who have criticised the film have been verbally bashed by the public. Maybe everyone’s in fear of losing their reputation or something? Meh
I really can’t be bothered getting elaborate over it, just wanted to say I find all the hype over this film funny.
Don’t get me wrong, good film… go see it!
